Jeff Ellias-Frankel Ph.D., is a licensed psychologist, a founding partner, and Director of Colt’s Neck Consulting Group. He continues to lead a variety of workshops both locally and internationally focused on relationships and the integration of psychological and spiritual perspectives.
Clinically, he has been working with couples, families and individuals for more than 35 years. It is important to him that: the dignity of each client is respected, that each be seen as a whole person searching for happiness, and that they not be defined by their symptoms. That said, he remains committed to reducing the unproductive suffering of the people with whom he works.
Carissa Bavosi is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with the Colts Neck Consulting Group. She provides counseling to individuals and families, specializing in children and adolescents. Carissa has over eight years of experience as a School Social Worker working on the Child Study Team. As a current School Social Worker in a local school district, she works collaboratively with families and provides school based counseling and social skills instruction. Her prior professional experience includes work at an inpatient psychiatric unit of a local hospital. Carissa graduated from Rutgers University with a Master in Social Work with a Concentration in Children and Families and obtained her LSW before obtaining her LCSW. Prior to pursuing her MSW, Carissa graduated from the University of Delaware and obtained a Bachelor of Arts with a major in both Psychology and Secondary Education. Further, Carissa is certified as a School Social Worker and a Teacher of Social Studies. She is an active member of the National Association of School Social Workers and the New Jersey Association of School Social Workers.
In addition to accepting private pay clients, Carissa is an in network provider for most major insurance companies.
George Asfendis is a licensed psychologist in New Jersey and has been a certified school psychologist for 16 years. Dr. Asfendis has an extensive background in the assessment and remediation of school learning and behavioral problems.
Dr. Asfendis has been a member of Colts Neck Consulting Group since 2010 and works with children, families and adults. Dr. Asfendis helps school aged children and their families overcome problems related to anxiety, depression, and adjustment to the increasing demands of today’s schooling. Dr. Asfendis also coaches parents to be leaders of children. His therapeutic work addresses a variety of concerns and he employs a cognitive behavioral model of therapeutic problem solving.
Elena Kochanek is a licensed psychologist and certified school psychologist in the state of New Jersey. Her specialties include helping clients negotiate learning and behavioral difficulties, understand and develop coping skills to manage anxiety and depression, and improve social awareness and social skills. Dr. Kochanek primarily works with school-aged children, adolescents, and young adults.
Additionally, Dr. Kochanek currently works as a school counselor in a local school district where she provides individual and group counseling and consults with teachers and parents regarding the educational and behavioral needs of their students. Dr. Kochanek earned an Ed.M. in Risk & Prevention from Harvard University and a Psy.D. in School Psychology from Rutgers University.
Harlene Ross is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker associated with The Colts Neck Consulting Group. She has more than twenty years of experience as a school social worker on the Child Study Team in a local middle school where she counsels children and adolescents on home and school issues. In Mrs. Ross’ private practice she works with children, adolescents and adults on a wide range of issues including anxiety, family issues, school phobia, social issues and grief counseling. Her prior professional experience included working with young unwed mothers in adoption placement as well as adopting parents and adoptees. She is currently facilitating a weekly social skills group with her colleague Carissa Bavosi. Mrs. Ross holds an undergraduate degree from Washington University in St. Louis and a Master’s Degree from Rutgers University School of Social Work.
Holly Heston is a licensed social worker who received her undergraduate and graduate degrees from Monmouth University. With a passion for helping individuals of all ages overcome addictive behaviors to include eating disorders, drug and alcohol addictions and codependency, Holly believes in joining her clients to develop effective strategies and techniques to achieve optimal wellness. Holly’s approach is based on a strengths- based model while utilizing tenets of cognitive and dialectical behavioral therapies. Holly is currently in the process of completing her Sandplay Therapy certification from Lighthouse Counseling and Sand Play Training Center.
Ashley Adams is a certified school psychologist and holds a permit from the State Board of Psychological Examiners to practice psychology under the supervision of Dr. Ellias-Frankel. She specializes in assessment designed to develop a profile of cognitive strengths and weaknesses and identifying targeted intervention strategies to assist clients in developing the identified weaknesses. She also provides counseling that focuses on developing self-regulation strategies to manage anxiety and depression, develop coping skills and social skills, and to assist students in developing positive learning behaviors. She currently works as a school psychologist in a local school district where she is a case manager that develops and implements individualized education programs, provides individual and group counseling, and collaborates will all stakeholders within the child’s educational program. Dr. Adams earned a M.A. in School and Community Psychology and an Ed.S. in School Psychology from Seton Hall University and a Psy.D. in School Psychology from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine.
